"Birmingham Botanical Gardens" This is the conservatory at the beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Made of glass and metal, this building greets you as you drive through the gates and is filled with many lovely living things.
If you want to learn more about the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, CLICK HERE. "Aldridge Gardens" This is Aldridge Botanical Gardens, a local spot I love to visit. The gardens are just a beautiful local resource and provide a wonderful place to escape the "daily grind."
If you want to learn more about Aldridge Botanical Gardens, CLICK HERE. Bateman's This is Rudyard Kipling's home, Bateman's, in Sussex, England. I loved doing this house for two reasons. The first of which is that I am a Kipling fan, loving his novels Captains Courageous and The Jungle Book, as well as his poetry. Secondly, I love the beautiful stonework and non-symmetrical lines of the home. English architecture is a favorite of mine, as a great deal of it is many hundreds of years old and holds so much history.
"King's College Chapel" This sketch is done from a historical photograph of the magnificent King's College Chapel at Cambridge, England. The architecture is fantastic with its many embellishments and proved a challenging piece. I tend to love drawing English architecture, and this piece was no exception.
The following sketches include vignettes from one of my favorite places, EPCOT in Walt Disney World. These sketches are actually collages from the different countries of the World Showcase in EPCOT.
